From Zero to Traction: Building a Multi-Sided Marketplace from Scratch

The Challenge
A newly launched tech company needed to build its brand, grow an audience, and acquire users; all without a single paid ad. With multiple audiences on both sides of the marketplace, the messaging had to resonate with two distinct customer types, guide behavior, and build trust.
They had no content, no brand voice, and no traffic. We started from zero.
My Approach
This was a full-funnel, behavior-shifting copy and content strategy designed to educate the market, align both sides of the marketplace, and drive conversions; “organically”.
Phase 1 – Pre-Launch Content: Education & Awareness
I launched the company blog four months before the platform went live, publishing over 50 in-depth articles as part of a long-term awareness and trust-building campaign. These articles reframed market problems and positioned the platform as the missing solution.
Phase 2 – Go-to-Market Launch Strategy
I developed and implemented the launch content strategy for the platform. This included messaging strategy, homepage and platform copy, onboarding flows, and social media content—distributed organically, without ad spend.
Phase 3 – Conversion-Focused Copy
Once traffic started flowing, I optimized the messaging and lead flows to convert early users into active customers. Every piece of copy was tested, refined, and adjusted based on behavior patterns and qualitative insights.
The Results
📈 2,000+ unique blog visitors in the first 2 months (organic only)
👥 400 platform signups from the target user segments in the early stage
✅ 305 users onboarded and engaged with core services
💰 Platform started generating revenue 9 months post-launch, powered entirely by the “change management content strategy”: no ads, no paid traffic
